May Updates

May has been an exciting month. Mr. Elijah is now 5 months old. Its gone by quickly, yet neither Scott or I can remember life without him. He smiles nonstop. He even decided to roll over and start scooting across the blanket. He doesn't seem to mind his helmet too much. At his May appoitment, he had another scan of his noggin and made huge strides. He grew what most kids grow in 3-4 months in 3 weeks. So we're hopeful that in June he'll be able to transition out of it.

After a little over a year of waiting, Isaac finally got his cordless insulin pump. He's been taking it like a trooper. We have to remove that device of insulin every three days, which is hard on his tender skin and small body, but overall things have been going well. He doesn't have to have any shots any more. All the insulin is programmed into the PDA looking device and then the device delivers it slower like his pancreas should. More importantly this should help keep his blood sugar numbers more regulated which keeps him healthier. There are some cool little video snipets at www.myomnipod.com . Isaac also finished up at Century preschool this past week. It was definitely bitter sweet as he has loved his time there. The staff there have been incredible and will be missed by all of us.

What a beautiful Memorial day weekend! We got lots done and spent some time with the boys at the park. Scott and I even got to go out to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary with some beers and a Laker game (via the Moose). Even let Scott win at some darts to ease the stress of the game.

Isaac orientated his little brother to the playground by giving him his first pushes in a real swing. Let's just say its a good thing the roles are reversed. If Isaac had been pushed like that, he would still be crying! Elijah just giggles.
Hope everyone got to do something special over the long weekend. Finally a little bit of nice weather...and a thunderstorm, my favorite kind of days! More importantly, thank you to those who have served and defended our country. God bless!

Long Babbler

With the wedding quickly approaching, everyone is pitching in to make sure everything is perfect...or something like that:-)

Eli had his 4 month check up. He's proportional for height and weight...its just for a 6 or 7 month old! He weighed in at 20 lbs and 26 inches long. Unfortunately we learned he needs to have a helmet, but he's been taking it like a trooper. They started him on some rice cereal. He's pretty excited to be sitting up at the table with the rest of the family. He's also been picking up on some of his daddy's love for reading!

Grandpa got a new puppy who has become Isaac's best friend. Meet Harley! Isaac was trying to teach her how to drive the various tractors and showing her all the hotspots out at the farm today.

Dave hatched one of his ducks. Lauren, Tyler, Isaac and I went out and met the little one. He was moving around pretty quickly so it was hard to get a picture, but he was sure cute. It was a fun day.

Thank you to everyone for all their support over the last couple of weeks. We are truly blessed to have such great family and friends in our lives. We really appreciate all the food, flowers, running the boys around...everything. Thank you! Eli is feeling better and will hopefully be finishing with his nebulizer soon. I was able to leave the hospital last night and am feeling well. Scott has been an amazing nurse taking care of the three of us. Thanks again for everything.

Sorry if the pictures and text don't line up right. I can never get it to look all pretty...but wanted to put some new pics on. Next week we'll have some new pics of wedding.

Take care!

4 Months Old!

It's tax day, and Elijah is now 4 months!

We're already planning on his future career as a garden gnome.  We should probably check to see if there are child-labor laws involved with being an undersized lawn fixture... his Aunt Amy would be a good person to ask...

HAPPY EASTER

Hope you are all well this Easter. Here are a few snap shots from our holiday. After an early start for 8:30 mass, things settled into place as we headed out to mom and dad's for Easter dinner, along with two of dad's brothers, their families and grandma.

Isaac made these ears on preschool. After hanging out in the house for a brief period of time, he roped a few individuals into giving him 4 wheeler rides for the better part of the afternoon.

Elijah on the other hand was working over a gaggle of stuffed ducks. The duck didn't see it coming....

Even though we didn't have any turkey....there seemed to be some sleepy peeps....

Congrats to Jake and Andrea on passing their dental boards!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Wedding Parties Plus!

Saturday, April 4, we gathered our family and friends to celebrate the upcoming marriage of Mic and Ian. Its always nice to get everyone together. Thank you to everyone who took time out of their weekend to join us!

And then the bachlorette party!
The boys.....

Papa and Isaac colored eggs while Scott and Eli caught a little snoozer.

Elijah got all squeaky clean. He loves his "soap-r-saraus" towel. Wish I would have had my phone for this pic so I could have got the video. He has the best little giggle.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE! Hope you're all celebrating with loved ones.

On May 9th, Mic and Ian will hopefully getting married in a flood free church that doesn't require the bridal party to run a portion of the Fargo marathon to attend! The boys are measured and ready to go.

Eli continues to giggle his way through most days....as he grows and grows......
