King Kong

Eli, Eli, Eli....
Little man wants to walk in the worst way. Tonight, he let go of my fingers and took a few steps towards Scott before falling back on me. King Kong was playing with his sheep (please see below)...they were attached on one end to Mary and the other to a sweet little lamb (please see orange circle). "What happened to the lamb?", said the eldest. Kong wanted to free the sheep, so he snapped the plastic in two. No pics of Isaac. He had a good weekend. Spent Saturday morning cooking with his Grandma. Came in to the two of them singing together. Then he was off to ride in the semi with Uncle Dave. Dave offered to bungi cord Isaac to the seat in place of the absent seatbelt, which was met with big blue eyes looking at his mom for some help. He spent the rest of the afternoon in the tractor with Grandpa. Tough to top that. While Scott and Isaac went for a bike ride on Sunday, Eli was roaming around the living room when he found Isaac's little laptop. He squealed....squealed as he pounded on it. I think Isaac better brace himself for his "little" brother! Week II in school has polar responses. Isaac seems to be doing well. Scott thinks its going to be a long year. Isaac came home with a green apple (for being good today), Scott refuses to put his behavior chart on the fridge.....better get the kids to bed before the boys hear their dad swearing at the purple 4 jersey on the TV.

Its Official...there's a Kindergartener in Our Home!

Isaac officially became a Tommie today! Yay Isaac! With his grandmother and great aunt writing the school song, his great grandmother a former teacher and elementary school principal for over 20 years and most of his extended family on his mom's side have previously walked these halls, there are no worries. Ok, maybe a few. Isaac seemed to have a good day. Thursday a rep from Altru's Diabetes Center came out to give an in service on Type I diabetes. The staff did a great job today! Isaac said he was a little nervous as we walked up to the school. After putting his stuff in his locker, he was off for the day. He came back out to give hugs saying how much he loved and was going to miss us today. He seemed to have a great day...even got some homework!

Saturday we had a great visit with my mom's brother, Dan, and his family. Kristen is now moved in and is starting at UND tomorrow. We all got together and did some grilling....or flame throwing! Even got to play a little catch....

Meet Sushi!!! Little cuddle bug.

Da boys...

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Saw a little bit of "summer" before everyone headed back to school.

[gasp]..I am your Father [exhale]

Just your typical Friday night...teaching 7.999 month old Skywalker the way of the force.
I don't remember this in any parenting books. However, I might have read something about it in the mandating reporting in graduate school. :-)
Hope everyone is loving the storms outside! They're my favorite days!!

Da Lake

Even with a little rain, we had a relaxing weekend at Lake Plantaganet! Uncle Paul grew a constant shadow to assist with pretty much everything. Even got a free fire building lesson....
Scott and Isaac took their annual canoe ride. One of these days, Isaac may actually paddle...or take the oar out of the water!

Must have went fast....post canoe hair.
Elijah taking a break from a hard day....
The boys caught a ride back up to the cabin...I'm sure this is OSHA approved, no need to file any types of reports...please.

The sun wasn't exactly beating down on us, but we still ventured out and had a good time.

The Brigadoon sisters...no idea how to spell that...maybe if I would have heard more words of the song ladies I could have gotten that right :-) Please don't call with any more verses!
Elijah was less than impressed of his Grandmother's and Great Aunt's rendition of some song...he held this look for most of the boat ride....about as long the song. Correlation? Tough to say.

Isaac and I went for a walk down by the creek. He picked a flower for Grandma...roots and all. We had a good time looking at all the deer tracks.

Nighty night...hope everyone had a good weekend and start of the week. Half way done...then I get to join the boys in their frolicing....or whatever it is they do!

Night!

Heading off in search of adventure in 90 degree temps. NOT a Dad of the year idea...

We ALMOST got a puppy this weekend. I miss Fang...

August Begins...

Friday, we took the boys out to Crookston to get their pics taken. Eli likes to lay on the floor and squiggle around...so we got him ready and let him to just that while the rest of us got ready. We heard a muffled...ugh. Did I mention he likes to take the corners of the blanket and roll? This is what we found. Little bugger.
Hey everyone! I'm just exploring a bit. I got two teeth this weekend, with two more poking out!

And snoozing with "mega me"....

Our neighbors had a litter of puppies, the runt of the bunch loved Isaac....and Isaac loved him. After much hemming and hahhing, we decided it wasn't the right time to get a puppy. Isaac put him back in his kennel....waved bye bye...and then blew him kisses. As we walked away, he put his hand over his heart and said I'm sad inside. If he wouldn't have bounced back so quick, this probably would have been a "welcome fang/morgan/the dog" spot. Ufda.

On Tuesday mom celebrated "a" birthday. Saturday we hung out with family to celebrate.

Ta-da! There ya go Jenna. Your debut!

Sunday, Scott felt we needed to get out of the house. So we picked a direction and headed in it....the Conrad family ended up in Warren, MN at the Marshall county fair. I have to say this is the nicest fair. We, mostly, had a fantabulous time.
Scott found a corndog as big as his head. For those of you who have seen his noggin, this is quite a task. He was very happy about this find...I think the picture speaks for itself.

Hey guys!

Seriously, I just want to be left alone. All I get to do is sit in this stroller.

I wasn't kidding....

Evidently, a ride going in a constant circle at 1-2 mph can be very frightening....

Oh...I forgot, I like this...high five dude! My bad.
Isaac almost lost his cookies on this one......darn dragons.
Bumper cars were a favorite....

That's all...just a simple weekend hanging out with loved ones....can't get any better than that. Hope everyone got to enjoy the balmy 60ish degree weather :-)
